Mat-Su Valley Fishing

The Matanuska Valley or Mat Valley offers a wide variety of good fishing spots. From King Salmon to northern pike to rainbow trout, the fishing opportunities are abundant. The Mat-Su Valley is located 40 miles north of Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city. It boasts an accumulative population of nearly 80,000 people and is centrally located to many Alaska outdoor adventure opportunities.

The Mat-Su hosts several very poplar rivers and streams that provide good salmon and rainbow trout and Grayling fishing possibilities as well as hundreds of still water fishing spots in local lake. These lakes host a variety of sport fishing choices ranging from Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, Pike, Burbot, and others.
